Makaila Dorman is the art teacher here at West Las Vegas High School she started working here 10 years ago in august 2013 - 2024 she came to Las Vegas on a soccer scholarships at highlands. Her parents were both artist so she grow up around art she got her degree in fine arts sculpture and ceramics then got her teachers license after and became a teacher here at West Las Vegas High School.

What are some things you like to teach every year in all your classes?

Mrs. Dorman appreciates things like drawing and painting, all while including the basics like color theory and simple things that are well established.

Yes it can, it is determined by what you want to do and what skills you have accomplished acquiring.

The most challenging thing thing for Ms. Dorman as a teacher is interacting with the students and getting them to participate or pay attention in class.

All you are expected to do in order to pass is by showing up and participate and even if its not the best just try.
Art is an absorbing class at West Las Vegas High School. Teacher Makaila Dorman teaches 5 art classes: Intermediate Art, Drawing, Painting, 3D Design, Expression Art. She is always trying to help in any way she can and encourages students to work together, and inspires students to think creatively. You can make anything in this engaging art class as long as you can imagine it.
